World Languages
Students make a preference choice of either French or Spanish at the end of their 5th grade year. 6th graders have World Language twice in the four day rotation. The 7th and 8th graders have it three times in the four day rotation. By 8th grade, students are completing their 2 year Level I course of study giving them the ability to skip Level I in high school.
In every grade, students focus on: person to person communication, reading, listening, oral and written presentations, the study of cultural practices, as well as the grammar and nuances of the language. The students are acquiring the skills that will allow them to communicate in various authentic situations.
